Struggles and Challenges that C-Suite Leaders experience

In this article, I have identified some of the challenges, obstacles, and difficulties experienced by senior executives & C-Suite leaders
Individuals in highly successful positions in an organization may find themselves in burnout sooner than later due to the demands of their role in the workplace. These Alpha personalities are highly energetic, self-driven, super-charged, and highly ambitious individuals whose eyes are always on the prize. The flip side to this position of power and high performance is when individuals are burned out from mental, emotional, or physical exhaustion and fatigue. These levels of excessive devotion to their job and leadership roles without self-care are a recipe for inner chaos.
Below, I have made a list of the symptoms that leaders, senior executives, CEOs, COOs, CFOs, and all C-Suite leaders may likely experience during their work life:
Mental Exhaustion: Your daily lifestyle, roles & responsibilities affect your sleep, leaving you exhausted most mornings.
Overthinking
You catch yourself overthinking work responsibilities, deadlines & others when you are outside the work environment finding it challenging to be present with loved ones or friends.
Stress
If constant stress has you feeling helpless, disillusioned, and completely exhausted, you may be on the road to burnout.
Emotional Overwhelm
Do you feel emotionally overwhelmed and drained and, most times, unable to meet constant demands?
Loss of interest
Would you like more interest and motivation in significant areas of life? Is it becoming more evident that you seem less interested in what previously mattered to you?
Feelings of failure
After completing tasks successfully, does it sometimes leave you feeling like you have still failed? Are you continuously beating yourself up to do and be better, as what you are currently achieving does not feel good enough?
Deterioration in your personal life
Other areas of your life, including relationships, fitness, eating, and recreation, are slowly, more and more, becoming minimal to none. Do you find yourself less communicative & more distracted, especially in your home environment?
Never-ending to-do-list
Do you feel like you wake up to one massive to-do list that is never-ending daily? As you work through the list, more things are being added at a pace that leaves you feeling overwhelmed and anxious.
Compromised physical health
Have you noticed that your physical health is slowly declining? Have you become aware of pains, aches, ailments, and unwanted physical discomfort that is more frequent than before?
Detachment and Isolation
Do you sometimes feel detached and numb from the world outside of your roles and responsibilities? Is it getting more challenging to remain engaged, focused & concentrated?
Meaningless Interaction
Have things become more meaningless to you outside of your role as a leader? You may be physically present at your child’s school event, but your mind is in another place, and you have missed the present moment.
Decreased satisfaction
Are you experiencing decreased satisfaction or a decreased sense of fulfillment? You could easily say no to an opportunity or proceed with the activity, but there is a loss of pleasure. Your interest in food, sport, music, art, adventure, or other has reached minimum levels.
