Show yourself compassion and kindness by sometimes, ignoring feelings that self-sabotage. Start working on that to-do list today! You're worth it!
While sitting here studying for my coaching exam I was inspired. I thought about what a nuisance this is and all I want to do is watch a movie and watch some cat videos. I just love those videos.
The exam has 500 questions and is 3 hours long. Can ya believe it? So much to read. But guess what - I LOVE IT - AND I HATE IT!
All that kept coming to me was - Be Nice To Me! - Be nice to yourself Sandra! You know how amazing you feel when you ignore some of those feelings. Come on! Lean into the discomfort and press on to - Ultimate Success!
I also know how it may ‘go down’ when I hit a question on that exam that I don’t know and whisper to myself - "you should have studied girl." If I don’t do my due diligence and study I may provide a reason for regret.
It’s not worth it!!
My Compassion
It is hard to be compassionate and intentionally show self-love. We may accomplish the action but really feeling it in the inward parts of our soul. Is not an everyday thing, yet it’s such a wonderful thing!
With a group of friends for support and inspiration, I started to make to-do lists years ago to hold myself accountable in my life. At first, I couldn’t stand it. I know many people have these ‘To Do’ lists. You probably have one too.
My friends and I made a point of meeting once a month to hold each other accountable. We’ve now been doing this for many years. This is how I continue to show ‘my compassion’ toward myself. Kindness & Compassion! To get this reward sometimes I have had to ignore feelings and do some self-management and regulation - ya know what I mean?
The ways - Be Nice To Me - promote self-compassion and self-kindness
You meet your goals and experience the ultimate “Be Nice To Me.”
You acquire sustainability with consistency to meet your goals.
You learn to plod on even when you don’t feel like it.
You learn to appreciate those lists and how they help keep your life in order - even when you feel out of order -
You learn a lot about loving yourself and how very capable you really are in achieving consistent success one step at a time.
Yes, we write them, we throw them out, we look for them frantically. We curse ourselves when we know we put one of them in our purse, wallet, or pocket and just can’t find it. We can’t stand them everywhere!
You see, from past experience, I know the kindest and most compassionate thing I could do. Is really study for this exam and honor all the years of lists that have helped to offer me sustainability as I met my goals. Small, medium, and large. Besides that, I love the learning, and I’m pretty good at it.
Come on you know the truth. Those ‘to do’ lists- they are our friends. Stick closely to them. Join a ‘Bring Your To Do List’ Group!
Seriously ‘to do’ lists have helped me to appreciate and achieve many accomplishments!
