Your life vision outlines an ideal outcome for your life which you will commit your resources towards achieving. What's Yours?
Has it ever occurred to you, when you join any good school or a successful company, they talk about their ‘Vision’ and ‘Mission’ statements. That is why they exist and what the whole community of that organization is guided by, and is striving towards. They may be setting a lot of short and long term goals, but they should never lose sight of that big ‘Vision’. Have you ever considered what your Life’s ‘Vision’ is? Isn’t life your single greatest and most meaningful gift? If so, how come you spend so much time and effort in trying to accomplish goals to move towards your company’s vision – but don’t even care to define your own?
In life, the greatest vision that you can set for yourself is a vision of who it is that you can become. Think of it as your ‘North Star’ to guide your life’s direction. Without this, you stand at risk of getting caught up in goals of getting things done and completing your ‘to-do’ lists. I see a lot of effective people responsibly maintaining their ‘to-do’ lists and having clarity on their day-to-day activities. I think that’s awesome! Only thing is sometimes we are so caught up in working hard that we lose sight of what it is that we are working towards. Those who aren’t actively working towards a vision in life will often experience life as being meaningless and directionless and this can lead to frustration. Never lose sight of that ‘North Star’ or ‘Vision’. But first identify your ‘North Star’!
A very easy way to know your life’s vision is by thinking about what you want your loved ones to remember you by once you are gone. Your life vision outlines an ideal outcome for your life which you will commit your resources towards achieving. It should inspire, motivate, and drive you out of bed every morning. Give it some thought and write your life’s ‘Vision’ statement down today!
