Systemic thinking: In developing the teams in new areas of work with a risk of mistakes.
Namaste!
Forgive and Forget, these words sound very philosophical or spiritual. What if, I connote them as two powerful attributes to develop teams and leaders?
We always expect the teams seek/provide solutions. That too which can fit in the current scenario, on the spot, not just what books have taught them. This means they need a practical field to experiment and experiment.
We heard at the individual/ organization level,” Mistakes are Welcome”. Do you find your work environment a “Lab to Test Solutions/ Ideas”?
OR
you are fumbling with feelings of nervousness/fear/bit of humiliation by remembering how your boss reminds you in every review that have you checked the totals which you missed 2 years before the review?
OR
as boss, you are feeling doubt and reminding your colleague’s extra precaution in execution which s/he did wrong last?
Important is how we accept mistakes.
As per Mr Segne’s words,” Real forgiveness includes “forgive” and “forget”
Sometimes, organizations will “forgive” in the sense of not firing someone if he makes a mistake, but the screw-up will always be hanging over the offender’s head. Real forgiveness includes “reconciliation,” mending the relationships that may have been hurt by the mistake
What’s your view? It’s one form of risk-taking. Don’t you think so?
Life or Business, it’s all about taking RISK with WHISK of learning.
FOR growth – GIVE & GET, CONFIDENCE, to your teams/relationships, is key.
Let’s build that courageous confidence through systemic thinking in our environment. Would invite you to deep dive with me into Systemic Approach to leading the teams.
