Hitting your prime years when approaching midlife

life can blossom or wilt when entering midlife, it is initially your approach that determines what direction your life will take once entering midlife
Let your imagination drift as you picture these four situations:
1) A Cardiologist, after performing long and complex heart surgery, gently pushes and steps through the massive doors of the operating room.
2) A Lawyer approaches the jury to deliver her final concluding argument, convincing them that her client, a Fortune 500 CEO, is guiltless. After filling her lungs with air, she begins her superbly polished oration using a controlled tone and sharp logic.
3) The Project Manager of a proposed skyscraper is about to add his signature of approval to the blueprint. Years of planning, debating, financial arrangements, and legal procedures are finally ending, allowing the actual construction to commence.
4) The Dean of the Ivy-League School of Science is preparing her lecture, which she will deliver at the Vienna international conference. She will finally present the fruits of her research conducted over the past year and a half.
When envisioning each of these four situations, a common denominator takes shape. My imagination visualizes four individuals who belong to the “Middle-Age” club. Perhaps you imagined something similar. If a young surgeon in her late twenties or early thirties was assigned to perform a challenging operation, I believe most patients would question her experience with the specific procedure.
Physical ability VS Maturity
During the productive years of an individual’s life, a tradeoff process takes place between physical abilities and accumulated experience. On average, the brain’s processing power peaks before the age of 20, while maximum muscle strength excels between the mid-’20s or early 30s. However, the greatest contributor to reaching prime performance is neither mental sharpness nor uppermost physical abilities.
When approaching middle age, we must take into account that experience, perspective, knowledge, wisdom, and intelligence play vital roles. Matured reasoning and rationalization will improve the effectiveness of one’s performance. Although we see brain processing power and physicality weakening, we also see an increase in polished maturity. As a result, the individual’s talents and skills are better utilized to achieve prime performance.
Sophisticated maturity compensates for a decline in physical capabilities in mid-life. Individual learns how to combine their abilities so that they can shine their brightest. Middle age, being the prime period in one’s life, should include taking action to harvest the fruits of the hard work invested in earlier years.
An Elite Life can begin at age 40-45, or it can end at 39. The key difference depends on the individual’s perspective when reaching the years of Mid-life.
