Stop and Write

3 steps to clarify your goal!
Step One
Take a moment to OBSESS! Focus on the WHAT!
Remove yourself from your usual environment, go somewhere quiet, somewhere new and fresh.
When your space is established and you settle yourself in a position where you feel comfortable, close your eyes and take three long, slow breathes and really focus on your breathing. When you are ready, ask yourself one of the following questions:
“What if I could create or be anything, what would that be?”
“In a perfect world, I want……” or
“If I could have it my way……”.
Take the time you need to recognize what it is that you truly would like.
When you feel ready, write what you saw, all your thoughts and how it made you feel down on your journal. Be honest and don’t hold back because you’re only talking to yourself. Take the time to create that vision clearly and allow yourself to imagine how that would feel like. Don’t allow any thoughts of HOW to clutter your mind, just stay in the moment with the WHAT! Embrace this moment where you are accepting what you want.
Step Two
Map it out and START. Focus on the WHY
Once you have created the vision in your head of what it is that you would like your life to look like and you have written it down in your journal, you can move on to the next step.
WHY do I want this life for myself? This is a very important step. Here you have the opportunity to dig deeper and find out why you want this in your life, this step will give you insight on why you want this. Insight is the key to transformation so please take your time with the process.
Be honest about what your intention are for why you want this life. What will I gain or lose by getting this? What impact will it have on myself and my Family?
Getting clear on the why is crucial for success when it comes to achieving anything in our lives. As Nietzsche once said, “He who has a why can endure any how”.
Therefore, the clearer your purpose for reaching this goal/dream is, the more likely you will be successful because you will be more willing and committed to doing the work required to get there. In your journal you can create a preliminary plan of action. Your dream can not manifest without action so ask yourself “what am I going to do about it?” Identify a few actions you can take. They don’t need to be huge actions but they should align or move you closer to your goal. You can include possible challenges you may encounter and likewise possible solutions. Once you have completed this task, chose what action you will take first, and make sure to identify a deadline for yourself for when this action should be accomplished. The critical step at this moment is to START!
Step Three
Be consistent and understand it’s a PROCESS
If ever you need to motivate yourself, go back and recreate that quiet space, make it a ritual to take the time to quiet your mind so that you can think clearly. Remember to take three long, slow breathes and think of something you are grateful for because gratitude is the best way to change your mood, the energy around you and it will inspire you to keep going.
“When I started counting my blessings, my whole life turned around” Willie Nelson
Use your journal to track your progress. Have a “never give up” attitude. See failure as an opportunity to adjust your actions but your main goal should always be clear. Make sure your behavior is aligned with your visualized goal.
If you feel you need extra support you can get yourself an accountability partner or a life coach to help you stay consistent. They can help you with the challenges you may encounter, keep you motivated to never give up and find possible solutions for your challenges so that you can manifest your vision and start living your best life.
Please remember to always work throughout the process with gratitude in your heart and remember to be kind to others including yourself, because as Arthur Ashe said “success is a journey, not a destination. The doing is often more Important than the outcome.”
