The "ums" and the "uhs" can be quite contagious. The key is to find simple ways to talk more normal and natural as you convey important information.
How to stop saying “um” and “uh” during your talks?
Are you plegded with the ums or the uhs when you talk? Does it seem like the more you try not to say them the more they show up in every single sentence and phrase you use? Well, don’t you worry about this any more, I’m going to help you with that today. I’ve told myself that there are some things that I would only share with people who sign up with my coaching program. THAT WAS WRONG!!!
Forgive me guys, that was the wrong mentality to have. I truly want to serve my community of effective communicators and giving more is how I am going to begin. Seriously! I’m going to start giving away more GEMs whether I’m coaching you currently or not. Adding value to this community will be my top priority.
Some of the strategies will be small, but will make a big difference. Some techniques I’ll share from time to time may be a bit more complex, but the goal is to help and assist where there is a need.
Here are 3 ways to decrease saying any ‘filler words’ during your talks!
1) Stop directing all your attention to Words or Utterances that you are saying So Much (Where your focus goes your energy flows).
2) Insert silent pauses into your talks to replace the ‘ums’ and “uhs.” Silent pauses are short breaks in between words, phrases or sentences.
3) Be a Subject Expert of what you are saying to your audience and be relational as you share that information to others. The words flow better that way. Who can tell your story better than YOU? NO ONE!!!
