4 Easy Steps to Avoiding Sickness
I haven’t been sick in over 4 years!! Yes, I said it. And it’s true. I even lost 40 pounds because of my health regimen and I feel better than ever. Today I will give you some tips on what I have done to stay out of the doctor’s office and reach optimum health.
1.) Exercise every day I exercise while I am watching a movie or my favorite shows. If you do not like doing strenuous workouts I suggest Yoga. Yoga is amazing.
2.) Eat right I suggest you eat the following foods everyday:
Oranges – Helps to Boost Your Immune System
Spinach – Reduces the Risk of Stroke, Heart Disease, & Osteoporosis
Yogurt with Live Active Cultures – Helps to Boost Your Immune System & Regulate Bowel Movements
Tomatoes/Tomato Juice – Helps to Protect You Against Cancer
Carrots (I usually juice them) – Helps To Protect You Against Cancer
Berries (Blueberries, Strawberries, & Raspberries) – Rich in antioxidants
Black Beans – Improves Brain Function
Walnuts/Flaxseeds – Rich in Omega 3′s
I also suggest eliminating foods containing Gluten. That means any foods containing wheat, oats, barley, rye, or malt flavorings. Gluten containing foods are hard to digest and may have a negative effect on your health. When you eliminate gluten from your diet you benefit your digestion, energy level and cholesterol levels.
3.) Eliminate Stress: Stress is one of the contributing factors to the six leading causes of death; heart disease, cancer, lung ailments, accidents, cirrhosis of the liver, and suicide. We all undergo some form of stress. Sometimes our body needs the “danger alert” stress produces to get out of dangerous situations. However, having stress for a long period of time is unhealthy. To reduce stress I recommend doing the following on a daily basis: meditating, exercising EVERYDAY, receive a Reiki Treatment, get a massage (my favorite), watch something funny, EAT RIGHT, simplify your life, spend time outdoors, have sex, read an inspirational book or article, listen to relaxing music, go on a mini vacation, don’t take yourself or anyone else too seriously, learn to say no, keep a gratitude journal (Psychological research says that practicing gratitude can increase your happiness by 25%.), talk less, love yourself unconditionally, be kind, laugh as much as possible, write things down, find time to be alone, get organized, live within your budget, enjoy aromatherapy, be flexible, reduce caffeine and sugar, pray, take it one day at a time and know that everything is working out for your highest good.
4.) Lose Weight Weight is very important. If you are overweight then your body is overworking causing unnecessary stress on your heart and other organs. If you are underweight you can experience infertility, a weak immune system, and poor physical stamina. According to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans there are suggested weights for adults depending on their height (You can Google it). After I had my son in 2008 I was 40 pounds overweight. I was determined to get back into shape and I did. I lost 40 pounds in only 7 weeks!! And you can too!
May you find joy, health, love and success!
