Dealing With Bullying

Peer bullying is common but what about teacher bullying?
We know a school is our first institution to learn & grow. And the teachers are the pillars of the institution, but when the teachers are biased and distinguish students based on their rank what should we say?
This is the story of Ella.
When Ella came to me for the first time, I found she was unable to speak and share her lessons from her notebook. After several meetings unknowingly, she started talking to me and approached me with her issues. In almost every meeting I used to give her different activities and asked her to practice. When she got success, she started opening up about her challenges.
She had been bullied by her teachers in the school for almost 5 years. Her life was tough and she was scared to go to school. She never got ranked in her school & the teachers only cared about the ranked students.
Following a few teachers, a few of her batchmates too started bullying her. She was unable to share her issues with her family or school authorities. But she never gave up. She completed her school and got good grades and got admitted to the same college where I was a teacher by then.
I have asked her how she dealt with it for the last 5 years? Her courage and methods were indeed unique & left me spellbound.
Every day she prepared herself for this situation before stepping into the school. She prepared herself to avoid them and " Switch off" to the negative talks.
She read storybooks to get motivated and distract herself to attract positivity.
She used to listen to music once she returned from her school and “Switch on” her new world of learning. Her study table was her world of creativity.
She practiced self-talk and she was her best friend. She believes Ella belongs to Ella.
Whenever she was depressed she had her world of Ella that made her busy and helped her to get out of the negative thoughts.
There are many of us like Ella in this world. We must have the courage to grow inside & face challenges. If Ella can, we can. Ella teaches us to believe in ourselves. Selfcare & Self-confidence are the pillars of our life.
