Jane Goodall and me:)

Being inspired can positively shift a perspective.
My goal with this article is about how being inspired by someone, something can help to positively shift your perspective.
I’m not sure when it started, but I’m hooked on documentaries.
There are so many reasons that I love them.
The first and foremost – I’m an education junkie. Anytime I have a chance to learn something new, see a different perspective … I’m hooked.
The most recent documentary I watched was “Jane Goodall: The Hope.” It’s a two-hour special following Goodall throughout her never-ending travels, capturing her relentless commitment and determination to spread a message of hope.
The film offers an intimate perspective of Goodall’s pivotal transformation from scientist to inspirational activist and leader and how she is galvanizing a future generation to create lasting change.
She’s an author, advocate, public speaker and travels over 300 days per year (that’s not a typo, 300 days a year of travel) sharing her reasons for hope in a message that we can make a difference to create a better world every single day.
And, as of today, she is 88 years old.
Jane has a relentless traveling schedule full of speaking engagements, reaching out and educating masses.
And she is an octogenarian.
People have told her “Slow down. Slow down,” because after all she’s in her late eighties.
Instead, she tells them, “Oh no, no. Time is running out, so I must speed up.”
Wow. Oh Wow.
Instead of slowing down, taking it easy, chilling out as “someone in her age group should be doing” she has a completely different perspective. “Time is running out, so I must speed up.”
Jane flipped around what being an octogenarian means.
She feels compelled to move faster and do more in the shorter amount of time that she feels she has left.
That blew me away and resonated so much for me that it made an impact on my inner soul.
She is who I want to be when I grow up: her attitude, her hope, her active life, and still making a positive difference in the world.
Here’s to you-
Lois
