Why is self- care important?
Sometimes we can forget to give ourselves the same affection that we give to others close to us. This is one of the reasons why adding self-care to your daily routine can have a huge positive impact. Self-care is the perfect stress release and when your stress levels are low life feels easier and more enjoyable. You start to feel good and begin radiating positive energy, improving all aspects of your life. I describe self-care as activities, of any magnitude, that you do solely for your own enjoyment. Activities that bring you peace and respite in your day-to-day living. For me, these include, pamper session alongside my favourite movie, enjoying my favourite meal after a nice walk-in nature, singing karaoke on YouTube. Everyone’s self-care routine will differ, play around with what works best for you, you may even discover new activities that you like along the way.
Self-care is just one of the many small steps that you can take to bring more joy, love, relaxation, and pleasure into your life. Often, we go through life forgetting to make time for our wants and needs. Not having enough moments of self-care, can leave you feeling drained, and out of touch with yourself. Therefore, self-care is so important, these small moments create big shifts in our mood, meaning that when we find ourselves feeling low, a bit of self-care can be a quick solution. Now, imagine the impact it can have when done on a routinely basis. Once you create space for self -care in your day-to-day life, you will start experiencing a constant flow of nurture, love, and affection.
