Living colorfully
Let me share a short story with you.
Over 25 years ago, before we moved into our new home, we began choosing paint colors.
I thought about keeping it neutral: white, Ivory, light beige. To make it easy to sell if we needed to (we had already lived in 7 places in 5 years. So another move was a huge possibility.)
So up went the beige, white, ivory paint.
Ten years living in the home, I realized we were staying put for a while more. Therefore I might not need to keep the current neutral paint colors to help make the home “easier to sell.”
And after raising four kids in the house, it needed a little refreshing anyway.
Truth be told, the neutral colors were fine, but they were never really me.
So up went a deep red paint in the dining room.
A gorgeous shade of yellow in the foyer, sunroom, living room and hallways.
A pale green in the bedroom.
Lois, you get the point.
After the new paint colors were up, I looked around and felt like my house had a personality that now fit better with mine.
I finally felt like I was home.
If you are ivory, be ivory.
If you are green, be green.
If you are fuchsia, be fuchsia.
If you are flowers, stripes, wallpaper, gold… be all of them.
Here’s to living life in full color, your color. Whatever that may be.
