SMART goals and making them matter to supercharge your life!
Dream so big it scares you…
It has been said (and proven ) that wherever you focus your mind, that’s the direction that your life is going to move in.
Did you ever think of a person you had not seen in a while, then out of the blue you either see them or hear from them or about them?
What about getting a car- let’s say you got a cute little red Volkswagen bug, and then you notice all around how many cure little red VW bugs there are?
This shows that you need to be super careful about what you focus on.
That’s also exactly why your dreams should scare you.
No matter what your dreams are, it’s simply an element of focus.
You might as well focus on something really big rather than something small, since whatever you focus on, you’ll move towards.
One of the best ways is to set SMART goals to help reach your objective (dream/goals):
- Make your goal Specific.
- Make your goal Measurable.
- Make your goal Achievable.
- Make sure it is Relevant.
- Create a Time-bound schedule
To break it down just a little more…
- S for Specific: A goal should be linked to one activity, thought, or idea. Very prices with No room for misinterpretation.
- M for Measurable: A goal should be quantifiable, and progress should be easy to track and measure.
- A for actionable: There should be clear tasks (not outlandish or unrealistic) actions you can take to make progress toward a goal.
- R for realistic: A goal should be possible to achieve.
- T for timely: A goal should fall within a specific time period, and a defined start and end date.
Here are a few SMART goal examples to help get your started…
“BECOME AN AUTHOR”
Weak Goal Example: I’m going to write a book.

- Measurable: I will finish writing 80,000 words in 6 months.
- Achievable: I will write 3,333 words per week.
- Relevant: I’ve always dreamed of becoming a published author.
- Time-bound: I will start writing tomorrow on March 1st, and finish August 31st.
“GET FIT”
Weak Goal Example: I’m going to get fit.
SMART Goal Example:
- Specific: I’m going to start walking daily so that I can hike a 10 mile scenic trail while on vacation
in 3 months - Measurable: I will follow the AllTrails app training program to prepare for my hike.

vacation is 3 months from now - Relevant: To become fit, healthy, vibrant and strong person — I want to be full of vitality, energy,
and zest for life! - Time-bound: I have my vacation plans all set for 3 months from now.

business - Achievable: I will tale action and complete the course, follow the lessons, ask questions, and put
