Lessons from Bee Nest

We had new guests at our home! Bee Nest! This got me thinking, why did they come? What can we learn from it?
“Oh my god – This was the only thing we didn’t have at our home,” – read my wife’s note on WhatsApp with a picture attached.
Bee Nests had been very common in the community we live in Bangalore, and we had not had the experience of Bees forming nests outside our house yet.
We started wondering – why it happened, whether it was good or bad – how should we remove it – carefully, etc.
Sometimes wonders happen in front of our eyes, and in the busyness of our lives, we tend to ignore them.
Bee Nests represent community, interconnectedness, and working towards a higher cause.
There are several Leadership lessons one can learn from Bee nests.
#TeamWork – Bee Nests are one of the best examples of how bees work together to achieve a common goal a larger purpose.
#Worldclass #Commuication – All of them sound the same – yet they can communicate, express, and get things done in a fast and most efficient way.
#servantleadership – The bees don’t have self-interests. There is no one leader; each one is a leader, and they all work together to finish the project for the community.
#Workplace – The bees do their best to protect and preserve their workplace – even when the bee nests are removed, the bees stay together – unless, of course, they are killed with a spray
#Balance – A fully developed bee nest weighs about 80 pounds or 37 Kgs. It’s incredible to see how Bees do their best to maintain balance.
Focussed #ProjectManagement – Like cabin crews who come together to form, storm, norm, and perform in their flights, Bees handle their project no less than certified project managers.
#Bees teach us the importance of:
natural wisdom versus artificial intelligence,
self-leadership and authority versus the chain of command,
hard work instead of automation, and finally,
collaboration instead of working in silos.
