If you lead or manage a team, getting the best out of them is critical for two reasons:
1. You need them to get the job done
2. They need you to get the job done
So it makes sense that, whether in business or the workplace, one of your priorities as a leader or manager should be to try and get the best from your team as often as possible.
Here are 3 ways to get the best from your team:
1. As the leader, have a clear vision that makes sense to your team so that they can get behind it and support it.
2. Identify the value that each team member brings to the group, and assign tasks to each that enables them to fully express that value.
3. Show your team appreciation, especially during the tough times. Most leaders tend to show appreciation only when teams perform well or accomplish the task. However, it is when things don’t go well when your team could use your appreciation the most. This may be the one thing that can ignite them to lift their game to another level.
