How to Set Realistic Goals

There is always something we can improve on and if not done properly you will experience burnout.
There is always something we can improve on and many people wait until the new year to get started. There’s nothing wrong with that but if not done properly you will experience burnout.
Here are a few ways to set realistic goals for yourself in 2022.
WRITE IT DOWN
Put your goal somewhere you will be reminded of it every day, multiple times a day.
CREATE SHORT TERM GOALS
Short term goals will not only help you reach your overall goal but it will also give you something to track and be proud of along the way. Short term goals should be something very easy to accomplish. They can be achieved either every day or every week.
BE SPECIFIC
The more you can get specific, the better. Identify what that looks like for you.
MEASURE YOUR PROGRESS
Take note of any amounts, dates or photos so you’re able to track and measure your progress. Tracking your progress will help fuel your motivation. Take time to do this and celebrate yourself along the way!!
START WITH ONE GOAL
Start with one. I know you probably have 5 goals that you wanted to achieve yesterday. Start with one and go from there. Starting with more than one goal may overwhelm you and then make both goals unrealistic to accomplish. Talk about burnout!
CREATE TIME FOR YOUR GOALS
This one is very important. Goals can be all talk until they come down to this. You’ve got to create time to get these things done and show up to do it.
SET A GOAL THAT ALIGNS WITH YOU
Setting a goal that is based off of someone else’s opinion will be VERY hard for you to accomplish. Make sure your goal aligns with your values and your future.
