Holding Yourself Back From Going After Something You Want

A reflection on the process of investing a lot of money in coaching & the mind shift that happens after you commit.
Holding yourself back from going after something you truly want.
I read this interesting article about someone dropping $10,000 (that’s right, I made sure I typed the correct amount of zeros) on coaching. The article talked about two things, one, the process of investing that amount of money, and two, what happens when you make that significant commitment.
Money is one of the biggest objections when it comes to committing to coaching.
Let me tell you. I’ve had my own negative beliefs around money that I’ve had to work through to move forward. But I can also understand where others cannot see the value of investing in themselves, which typically comes from a mindset of scarcity, not abundance. When you decline to spend “X” amount of dollars on yourself, you are saying that you are not worth “X” amount of money and allowing money to dictate the quality of your life.
Now, the value people place on money varies. Regardless if you want a transformation in your life, you have to be willing to invest.
What do you think happens when you commit to investing in coaching? Dream a little bit. How do you think you would show up? What type of goals would you achieve?
Well, there is this shift in your brain when you make that commitment. The more you invest, the more you commit to action.
The first time I dropped a lot of money on coaching, I had so much anxiety I was freaking out… But the second my sessions started, I forgot about the fear and worked my butt off to ensure I committed to the results because I could not fail myself. I was paying for life-changing results, and I was going to make it happen.
Another aspect discussed in the article is the more you invest, the more you instill the belief that you can charge what you’re worth. Your self-value goes through the roof once you start building confidence and achieving your goals. Trust me; you are worth the money.
