The Top 12 Characteristics of an Entrepreneur

Over 62% of Americans believe that entrepreneurship is a good career choice. But, before you make that move, consider these top 12 characteristics of an entrepreneur. You might be an entrepreneur if YOU:

• Are Scared – you’re nervous about failing. But even though you may be scared, you have to be willing to do whatever it takes to succeed.

• Resourceful- you know it is not about having enough resources, because you never do, it is about being resourceful with what you do have.

• Obsess Over Cash Flow – you constantly worry about where you are going to get the money to keep the business running – when your credit cards run out!

• Don’t Ask for Permission – entrepreneurs are more likely to ask for forgiveness, forging ahead to address opportunities or issues as they arise.

• Fearless – you see the potential where others only see the risk!

• Welcome Change – you constantly evolve tweaking your business in response to market feedback.

• Love a Challenge – motivates us to work harder to figure out a solution.

• Consider Yourself an Outsider – some may think you are opinionated, quirky and demanding (and you are perfectly okay with that!).

• Recover Quickly – you don’t feel sorry for yourself. You move on quickly to the next “big thing” immediately!

• Listen – you surround ourselves with people smarter than you and listen to their ideas.

• Focus on What Matters– (when you figure out what matters) You fall down and pick yourself up until you get it right!

• Take Action! You make a decision to become an entrepreneur then take the next steps.
