Early Attachment... Why do we keep doing this to ourselves?

I have recently been asked to do a training on Early attachment in Dating. This is such an amazing topic because Attachment Styles really affect ALL of us (women and also men) and they can cause a whole lot of stress to our lives, careers and relationships!
In this training, I introduce attachment theory and briefly describe Secure and Insecure attachment styles- what they are, where do they originate, and how they affect our beliefs, feelings, behaviors, and choices as adults. I specifically focus on insecure attachment styles; namely: ANXIOUS and AVOIDANT and touch on how these attachment styles affect us adults: our self-image, our emotional health and wellbeing, our relationships with the world, and the way we bond and choose our romantic partners.
Then I move to talk about how the Anxious Attachment style developed in childhood and very early life affects women in dating and relationships later in life. I also give other examples of reasons for early attachment in dating. Why do many women if not most, no matter what their age or culture is, get attached too quickly, project themselves into the future after one date, one week, one month, and then end up ghosted, abandoned, disappointed, and alone???
Well, it is no mystery: your attachment style will determine the health of your dating and relationship habits! But there is another piece that is crucial, and that is KNOWLEDGE.
- How much do you know about red flags in men and dating?
- Do you understand the differences between how men and women commit and form attraction?
- Are you informed about how the dating/relationship timeline is completely different for men?
All these gender differences come from biology. Clear and simple,. And I also touch of some of these in the training!!
I close the training with a few recommendations, tools, and solutions that can help you whether you are single, in a relationship, or married REBALANCE your relationship with yourself first so that you can have your emotional and commitment needs fulfilled more easily by the man in your life or your future man.
