I Feel Like Giving UP On My Business: An Exercise To Help You

DON’T give up on your business. This is personally how I feel and I 100% believe that this is a mindset.
I’ve had conversations over and over with entrepreneurs who feel like they just can’t get going in their businesses. They feel like nothing’s working. They feel behind, like everyone else has it easy or everyone else is making money but them.
I’ve talked a LOT about how difficult growing a thriving business is but it got a lot harder for so many people in 2020 and hasn’t really changed much.
So many people were ready to welcome in 2021 as if magically, everything would change… but it didn’t.
There are so many amazing ideas inside of people right now and the world may never be blessed with experiencing any of them. There are so many talented entrepreneurs out there who are lying and showing the world a fake reality.
So many of the entrepreneurs who come to me look successful on the outside, like they have it all together but on the inside, their breaking down and they feel like crap.
They’re saying, “where’s MY success?” or “Why can’t I make my business WORK?!”
The truth is, while they’re laying in the dark in bed, they just feel like the struggle is too much and they just want to give up. Entrepreneurship can be a lonely road but I want you to know, you’re NOT alone.
When you’re pursuing your passion it’s almost inevitable that at some point you’ll think one or more of the following:
“This is harder than I thought it would be.”
“Why is this taking so long?”
“I’m getting nowhere with this.”
“Nobody wants what I’m selling.”
“I can’t do this. What was I thinking?”
And when you do have one—or more—of these thoughts, it’s very likely that you’ll want to give up.
Today, I just want to give you hope but more than that, I want to help you refocus your mind.
The first step is to stop looking through your magnifying glass on all of the struggle. That will only make you intensely upset.
Let’s begin to look at why you wanted to be in business in the first place. What was it? Why did you want to start this business? Really, why?
Ask yourself and keep going until you hit the REAL reason. Often it’s hidden under layers and layers of reasons but when you can connect to the ACTUAL reason you do what you do it gives you your passion back and that fire back in your belly.
Was it to live a certain lifestyle? Was it just to make money? Was it because you hate working for someone else?
These are the reasons you started and what you MUST use to fuel your focus to get you through the tough days. When you don’t visualize the success or the journey or the benefits, you’ll see only what’s not working.
I don’t know if you need to her this today…
Never give up!
Just because you can’t see anything yet, although you’ve been working on your goal for awhile, this doesn’t mean that nothing is happening. You may be closer to achieving your dream than you think. Don’t give up, when you could be just moments away from succeeding. Keep chipping away.
Achieving large, hairy goals isn’t easy. Somewhere along the way it’s very likely that you’ll want to quit. But when you feel like quitting, don’t give up an just remember WHY you got started in the beginning.
