does a Leader have to be Vulnerable? is it a strength or a weakness in the modern world?
Traditionally leaders were expected to be tough and show no weaknesses. it would be looked at as a weakness in his armour. Leaders were not expected to display their feelings.
in the fast-changing world of today, the attributes of a Leader have evolved a lot.
a modern Leader is more empathetic and authentic. she/he will display vulnerability. a Leader who shares the fact that she/he is willing to learn strikes a very strong cord with their teams. one who admits mistakes and takes responsibility enables the team to trust her/him and creates stronger bonds of relationships.
In fact, one of the key strengths of modern Leadership is to surround yourself with people who are better than you and allow them to make decisions and respect them.
Leadership today is more collaborative and vulnerable Leaders have great success with their teams. It is also one of the reasons that we have women in leadership roles in many companies.
