What Is Coaching?

At it’s most basic and fundamental, coaching is a conversation about what you want to change and what is holding you back.
Have you ever looked at your life and felt that you were capable of more? That there was a more confident, true, powerful version of yourself just waiting to be let out?
Have you ever felt stuck? You know you want to make a change, but you don’t know how? You keep trying to make a change, but nothing sticks?
At it’s most basic and fundamental, coaching is a conversation about what you want to change and what is holding you back.
In coaching we break down old thought patterns, perspectives, and habits, and rebuild new ones. A good coach creates a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore, ask questions of yourself, and sit with the answers. Through coaching you can experience emotions and areas of your life you may be ignoring or avoiding. Coaching is an invitation for you to be vulnerable and honest.
If you want things to change, you can’t keep doing what you’ve been doing.
People often think of coaching as developing you into a better person, but I’ve come to realize it’s more about revealing the incredible person that’s always been there, hidden away. Coaching allows you to remove many of the self-imposed mental barriers that clutter our minds and impede our progress. Once these barriers are removed, the version of yourself you always knew you were capable of is free and you are finally comfortable enough with yourself to express it.
