It used to be high-paid executives that would have coaches. But times have changed; the world is running at a faster pace, competition for jobs and promotions are high, people don’t spend as many years working for companies like they did decades ago, so it goes to show that if you want to move fast, you have to act fast.
Unfortunately, many people have fears, barriers, and an inner voice that tells them that they can’t do certain things, which means people can sit on great ideas for months, years, or all-time and never have them heard. It means that the promotion you should have gone for went to someone else with half your level of expertise. Undervaluing yourself has meant that you only got a 1% pay rise when it should have been 5%. There are so many different circumstances where you have not got what you deserved and have worked hard for, and this is precisely where a coach comes in to help.
From my own experience of having a coach, I can tell you that I would not have succeeded in many areas without having one. Would you believe that a year ago, I was afraid to post on social media? I used to be so concerned about what people would think. I used to be afraid of public speaking; I believed that I didn’t have the knowledge to share; my coach helped me remove that self-limiting belief, and now I love presenting at my workshops. I work with my coach two times a month; it is like a recharge of my battery because I am always highly productive after each session. Everything I have achieved in the past couple of years would have taken me much longer without a coach’s help.
