In this VUCA world, leaders need to be competent in ‘people skills’. Just like technical skills - these can be developed with a supportive coach.
In the VUCA world we find ourselves in (volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous) leaders must be equipped more than ever with effective skills and practices to navigate by.
Technical competencies are not enough. Leaders also need to be competent in ‘people skills’. Their awareness of themselves, others and the ecosystem they operate in needs to be heightened as never before.
This awareness stays at a high level through a consistent commitment to their own leadership development and practice. While there are many very good training courses that provide knowing more about ‘people skills’ – it is through real-time practice that a leader becomes competent. Combining this with the support of a coach can make all the difference to enjoying the development journey as well as the increase in skill.
