May You Seek Help

We often wait too long before we seek help. Asking for help shows a maturity level in you! If you need help, trained people are there for you!
Most of our lives there has been help in place for us, but we choose not to use it. For instance, there are local programs to feed people in need, but won’t go there. There are counselors at schools, but won’t go see them. There are even churches that have support groups in place, but won’t use them either.
We look at these services and seem to think we are too good for help. Or we could just be in our heads and assume they are judging us. Either way, our pride makes us believe that we don’t need their “help” so we don’t seek their help.
Until, one day things don’t go as we plan. Life starts happening and now we are overwhelmed with the stresses that we weren’t expecting. After we get into a neck deep hole, we seek their help. We expect them to save us immediately and bring us back to our comfort zone.
However, in reality it won’t be a quick one week healing session that gets us there. It’s going to take time to heal just like it took time to seek help. The beauty of healing is, it’s never too early or late to start.
If something doesn’t seem right to you: May you seek help. Be great this wee!
(May is Mental Health Awareness month. If you or anyone you may know are wanting help, there are professionals ready to meet you where you are at.)
