Developing Positive Habits.

It takes 3 weeks to establish a habit - positive or negative. So I'm going to provide you with a few tips on how to establish positive habits and what
Most of us like living out a routine to make us feel comfortable. It’s human nature. However, it’s easy for humans to create negative routines based on our habits – habits we might not have consciously developed. Sometimes, these habits can lead us into depression and keep us there. A lot of us feel a lack of motivation to do anything – we feel stuck. But we don’t have to be.
Side Note: An incredible book to read and one of the most well-renowned books for self-improvement is The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business by Charles Duhigg. He delves into the psychology of forming routines to create a positive and happy life.

When I was going through a rough patch, here are some of the daily habits I developed to help me feel productive and fulfilled:
Meditate every morning for 10-20 mins
Journal about your day and include 3 things you’re grateful for
Read 10 pages from a book (ideally a self-development book, but not necessarily)
Get outside – if this is for a 20 minute bike ride, a 5 minute walk or a trip to the grocery store, just get out of your current surroundings.
Healthy meal planning
Reducing social media and television
Learn something new OR work on a skill – I practice Spanish on an app called Duolingo everyday for 15 mins
We don’t want to overwhelm ourselves by implementing too much change too soon. We want to take baby steps so that the habits we develop stick. Of the list above, pick one that appeals to you most and start doing it every day for three weeks. Then tack on another one or two. Feel free to create your own list based on your goals and wants then take it one step at a time.
