Time – The Stress of the Tick-tock

I always felt the pressure of the clock. I would look at the to-do list want to scream, cry, pull my hair, or go hide.
When I was in school for my interpreting degree, and then more recently for my life coaching degree I always felt the pressure of the clock. How do I manage work, reading for class, homework assignments, my kids and my home and all the busy-ness that goes with each of those? I would look at my calendar and my course syllabus and my boys school and extracurricular schedules and want to scream, cry, pull my hair, or go hide.
None of those are viable solutions and frankly don’t even help me feel better even in the short term. The doom and gloom of a long list of things to do and the panic of where to fit everything in can be so overwhelming. It can cause us to freeze and do nothing, or for some they try to do everything at once and nothing is really successfully done.
One way to relieve that overwhelm, freeze, want to hide is to prioritize. There’s a wonderful tool I have that is the Action/Priority Matrix Tool. You can make a list and prioritize by ease/difficulty and impact. Using a tool like this can help you determine where to start and help you ease the stress and frustration of too much to do and don’t know where to start. If you’d like a copy, email me and I would be happy to share it with you.
