You are Worthy

As I was growing up, I was always told that people are precious. All people are important to someone and should be treated as valued.
As I was growing up, I was always told that people are precious, worthy. All people are important to someone and should be treated as valued. I accepted, believed and understood this to be true. About everyone, except myself. I don’t recall ever being told how precious, worthy, and valued I was, so it never occurred to me that the same regard I held for others applied to me. I tended to skip meals; then when I ate, it was junk. I had terrible sleep habits, not getting enough sleep to the point of nearly falling asleep at the wheel while driving. I said yes every time someone asked me to do something. I did not take care of myself physically, or emotionally. I didn’t think I deserved it. Besides, I was busy helping and taking care of everyone around me.
Not realizing or acknowledging my own worth, I didn’t take care of myself or love myself the way I cared for others or encouraged them to take care of themselves. Until I realized that I too, have high value. I am worthy of love, respect, and care. It took a while to learn that I am worth the same regard I give to others. I am worth caring for. It took intentional practicing to see my own value, the same value that I could see so easily in others.
I want to encourage you to look at how you see others. Take a long look deep inside, and see what value you that you give to yourself. You, my friend, are valuable. You are so precious. You are worthy. You are worthy of respect from yourself and others. You are worthy of care. You are worthy of love. You are worthy.
