Decision Making: Explained
What if I told you every decision you’ve made in your life is connected with The Six Human Needs? I am obsessed with books about efficiency, psychology, growth, success and performance. They all talk about various concepts and strategies to get stuff done and improve your life, but none are as powerful as the “Six Human Needs”, which coaching guru, Tony Robbins, refers to as the reason we do anything.
… so what are the 6 human needs? Scroll down to find out!
Certainty: assurance you can avoid pain and gain pleasure
Uncertainty/Variety: the need for the unknown, change, new stimuli
Significance: feeling unique, important, special or needed
Connection/Love: a strong feeling of closeness or union with someone or something
Growth: an expansion of capacity, capability or understanding
Contribution: a sense of service and focus on helping, giving to and supporting others
Most people have two top human needs that drive most of their decisions. Those needs explain your purpose behind those negative (and positive!) habits, routines, behaviors, relationships, career choices and more. Mine are connection and growth! For more information check out blogs on my website.
