Are you feeling overworked, overwhelmed or stressed out? It could be keeping your from losing weight!
Many of us are experiencing some form of stress right now and weight gain is one of the biggest indicators that we are experiencing chronic stress. Losing weight is virtually impossible when we are experiencing stress on a regular basis.
Stress increases our cortisol production.
Cortisol is the hormone that we produce when we are under stress that comes from our adrenal glands. It is commonly called the “stress hormone”.
High cortisol levels are associated with weight gain, inability to lose weight or gain muscle, and premature aging.
Stress literally affects every system in our bodies!
I challenge you to take a moment and look at where your stress levels are on a scale of 1-10.
Many of us don’t even realize we have too much stress. It’s easier to ignore it or insist we’re just fine. The fact is, we are not just fine when we are living with chronic stress. It’s one of the biggest deterrents to weight loss.
If your stress levels are over a 4 on the 1-10 scale, it’s time to do something about your stress levels!
Start by using your breathing to drop the stress a notch or two.
Inhale for a count of 5
Pause at the top of the breath for a count of 5
Exhale for a count of 7
Try this at least 4 times then reevaluate your stress level.
Then give me a call to see how else I can help you lose weight even when nothing seems to be working. Your first session is free. Yup! It’s totally free to talk with me to see how else I might be able to help you look and feel great again.
