4 ways to overcome self-doubt fast for startup CEOs and founders
Imposter syndrome is a mindset where you believe that you are not as good or competent as others may perceive you to be. It also may be associated with an intense fear of being “found out” and exposed as incompetent. Many CEOs/business owners may experience this, especially if they are startups.
The consequences of imposter syndrome are lack of self-confidence, and the inability to take decisive action. Both of these will negatively impact on you and your business.
How do you deal with imposter syndrome? Here are 4 ways:
1. Have a clear vision for yourself and your business, as this will give you clarity of focus and direction
2. Upskill and/or reskill yourself as needed. Confidence comes from the knowledge that you have the skill and knowledge to fulfil the role of CEO or business owner
3. Invest in the right kind of support, such as coaching and/or mentoring, to help you amplify your strengths, while addressing weaknesses
4. Recognize and overcome limiting beliefs and self-doubt
Starting and running your own business is a daunting task. It is not easy. Therefore it requires you to be at your very best to make it succeed. Do not doubt yourself. That is the enemy of success.
All the best,
Theo
