Size Matters

Do you overeat? Here is one contributing cause!
Size Matters
Size matters—-of dishes that is.
Numerous studies have repeatedly shown that everyone (thin and not-so-thin alike) consumes significantly more food and drink when the dishes are larger.
You’ll eat more popcorn if you get a large bucket. It doesn’t matter if you are thin or if you ate a meal beforehand. Across the board, studies have confirmed that you will eat more.
You’ll drink more soda if you get a super large glassful. You’ll eat more candy from a larger bag. Whatever the container is, whether it’s a bag, bucket, glass, plate or bowl, you will eat more if it’s bigger.
The solution?
Buy smaller dishes or eat off of the salad plates instead of the dinner plates in your set. Drink from the coffee mugs instead of the huge glasses.
Order smaller sizes at restaurants. Split meals. Order the “doggie-bag” as soon as your meal arrives and put half of your meal into it before you even start eating.
