I don’t want to be heard, I want to be listened to

The best wish that I would like to make to all women today is for them to have the courage to “listen” to their inner voices
Can you recall a situation in your life where you just heard someone instead of listening to them?
Have you ever received this kind of feedback?
Well, I did and honestly I was not proud of it.
This is why I decided to do something about it, by working on my ability to listen and tune in with others.
On this regard, I’ve learned something absolutely mind-blowing during my coaching training.
Above all, before even thinking of being able to listen to others and deeply connect with them, we must learn to truly listen to ourselves.
Now you might say “Danny, what are you talking about? How can I listen to myself? I’m not crazy… I don’t talk to myself!”.
And to this I would answer that, although sometimes I do admit talking to myself in front of the mirror…, there is actually a gazillion conversations going on throughout our body and mind, and we would be able to grasp them all if we only “listened” to them rather than just focusing on what we hear.
We are a composite of resources and energies, a mix of “selves”, that all together make up the beautiful “humans” that we are. All our selves are inside of us and they do express themselves with their own distinctive voices.
Thanks to the Voice Dialogue technique I’ve learned to “listen in” and give space to some of those inner voices that were probably long neglected and now they have finally earned the space they have been longing for, a chance to be listened to.
With exercise and practice I’ve learned how to best leverage these inner resources and give them a specific purpose in my daily life.
The listening and tuning in exercise never stops, it is a daily effort to put our best foot forward and make decisions that are fully routed in our sense of direction and purpose in life.
The best wish that I would like to make to all women today is for them to have the courage to “listen” to their inner voices, give them a microphone and let them sing, shout, whisper… to let them truly express themselves to the fullest, because those voices, those colors, that energy is what makes them all unique and beautiful human beings.
Please, listen to me.
