Hell or Heaven: A matter of perspective

An interesting story on how our perspectives play part in the way we view our situation .
Sharing an interesting story I heard : Heaven or Hell A matter of perspective:
There is this individual who is addicted to drinking. His friend wanted to help him so he told the man, “see if you drink, you will go to hell.”
Then the drunkard said “my father too drinks”. His friend said “your father also will go to hell”.
Then the drunkard said “My brother also drinks”. His friend said “your brother also will go to hell”.
The drunkard with much more enthusiasm said “all my friends drink”. His friend again said “then they will go to hell”.
The drunkard paused for a moment and said “when I have my family, my friends in hell, I can party and enjoy with them everyday. Then hell is not hell for me but heaven”.
Not sure what happened between these friends after this conversation but it nudged my thinking.
At times we loose the opportunity for meaningful engagement and deep connections in professional and personal spheres due to difference in perspectives.
If we can be mindful and remember such stories in those situations, may be the outcome would be different and a win-win for both parties involved.
