Who will you CHOOSE to be when you wake up?

You have the power to choose happiness every day when you wake up. So why not do it? Learn what choosing happiness will do for you.
So it’s a new year and things are rolling full steam ahead! Everyone has set new goals and they are working towards them. There is new energy around the world, and it can be seen everywhere. But you may find yourself down or blue. Maybe it is because the Christmas season is over and you may be missing your loved ones already, or you are back to a job that you don’t really like. So what do you do now?
It may sound crazy, but I suggest that you purposely choose happiness! This can be a choice that you wake up and make every single day. You already make 10 decisions before you enter shower, why not make this on too! Try it! It doesn’t have to be for the entire morning (unless you want to), start small and just imagine a happy time in your life and remember what it was like to be there, re-live the experience and get emotions into it! Then let this experience set the tone for your day. You may be surprised by the impact of this small effort.
If you wake up every day with a negative attitude and how awful your life is, your day will be just that…awful. Don’t just go through the motions every day and make the same decisions. Your heart will grow stale and your mind will be filled with negativity. This can lead to resentment or bitterness and life will be miserable. You become that scrooge that no one wants to be around.
Instead wake up in the morning and CHOOSE happiness. By choosing to be happy, you will also find love and gratitude. These attributes will allow you the opportunity to fill your heart with feelings that will radiate to others as well as help the light shine within you. Be an example to those around you of how you want to live.
Ask yourself what is taking up space in your heart and what you are spending your time and energy on. Are you taking the time to nurture things that truly matter? Focus on gratitude and finding the blessings through the day, this will give you an internal happiness that will spread joy to others.
