In this article, we will reviev most challenges of students in pandemic. I will give some tips for solution.
These days are extremelly challenging all over the World. We are in a new situation that gives us so much changes which could be difficult to coping with them. All of us have challenges now, such as at work, at home or at school. Today, I will tell you more about challenges of students.
Most schools are working online today. It is variable how children, teachers and parents cope with that, it depends on the place where you live. In many countries online education is completelly developed, they have the equipment and tools for creating a high-level education via the internet. On the other hand, there are countries, where it does not work as easily as developed countries. They have no high internet connection, schools are not supported with the right equipment, many families do not have any smart devices and they do not have enough income to finance this kind of education. Caused by these issues, students, teachers and parents would be frustrated as well, because there are lots of mistakes for example on the internet. In many cases, children would become unmotivated, because they can not meet friends or they do not have a daily routine at home.
Now, let me give some tips for students. There are full of techniques, I can not write them into one place. So, let us see a few:
Create a daily routine with your parents. It is one of the most important parts of coping. You can do it with a piece of paper that you can put anywhere in the house, or you can use plenty of apps on your smartphone, conputer or tablet to create checklists and daily routine. In my practice, students like so much these apps, because they do not have to pay attention after creating, because you can set reminders, too. If you do not have any smart devices, you can assign someone who is responsible for reminding you about tasks. In addition, you can share who is responsible for each of the tasks, so you do not have to remember all of them.
Set goals for yourself. If you feel unmotivated, an important thing is to set smart goals. They are specific(for example “I would like to be scored A+ in chemistry”), measurable, achievable, relevant(result-based and realistic), and time bound(so you set a due date for example). You can call for help goal planner apps, which are help you plan your purposes step by step. You can do it together with a friend, a parent, or alone, too. You can assign completed or incompleted any of the steps, no matter what you use(paper, or app). If you have a planned goal, it could be easier to go forward in education and work.
Write achievement diary. You have set your goals, but you do not see the results. It is a common problem after a goal setting, because you can not see little, step by step results. I allways suggest my students to create a diary, and write the achievements. I believe in writing, because many things become more conscious by that. So, what could you write to this diary? For example, you would like to do ten maths tasks for a day. You do it well, and quickly(for example you have given yourself 45 minutes, but you do it before time), write it down. Or, you have done more exercises in 45 minutes than ten. You can write it down, too. When you are unmotivated, you can read your achievements and it could be more conscious.
Write anger diary. In the teenager years, you have a lot of frustration, especially in this changing situation. You can write your frustrations, angers in to this diary, and reading it, you can think about solutions. You can think about that what makes you calm. What makes you feel more confortable in your life. You can share your thoughts with a friend, or with a parent or coach as well.
Meditate. An other important part of coping is to let your body and mind have a rest. Meditation and relaxation is great for this. You can find free guided meditations in the internett, and you can download meditation apps or there are free meditation/relaxation trainings on the internet.
Take sports. It is quite common, but important. Sports are moving out of your house, or out of your work.
Create places in house for work/learning, and for having a rest and being with familly/friends. To separate work/learning and private life would decrese anger and frustration.
Of course, we have many other solutions, and we can create own habits. These are only some tips to moving forward. I hope that it will be helpfull for you. I wish you good luck for your education.
In next days, I will write about challenges from more aspects, and I am planning to create training and webinar series in the topic, too. Take care of yourself and all around you!
