How to get what you want by being proactive: have less stress, more options and save money
There are usually two types of people when it comes to personal goals: proactive and reactive. Proactive is controlling a situation by making things happen or by preparing for possible future problems. Reactive is a reaction or responsive to a trigger as a result of stress or emotional upset (according to Merriam-Webster). There is so much stress today so being proactive in reaching personal goals is a must – not just an option – for better control of your life. It’s important to be proactive for three important reasons: lower stress, have more options and save money.
1. Stress: When you’re proactive with your personal goals, you usually have a plan. This means less stress. This means if something happens then you are more ready to handle it. Let’s say there’s an emergency with work or school, your car needs repairs, health problems or just life, you are in a better place to handle it. You don’t need to stress about what you’re going to do next.
2. Have more options: When you’re in a place and you are prepared, you have more options. If something unexpected happens and you have a plan or you have resources in place you can use them instead of trying to figure them out last minute. This means you usually have less time to figure it out so you have less options.
3. Save money: When you’re proactive about personal goals, that usually means you make less mistakes and you have resources meeting people or things to help you. This means you usually are in a better place and when you make less mistakes, you usually save money.
Being proactive in your personal goals means less stress, more options and money in your pocket. Today, there are a lot of challenges and competition so have a plan! Be proactive with your personal goals and have your life move in the direction you want.
