Having No Plan Is Like Firing a Gun with a Blindfold on.

You should have a plan and be seeing some sort of progression towards reaching your target in 6 - 8 weeks. If not then you need to look at WHY not.
Irrespective of whether you belong to a gym, weight loss group, committee, or are having some sort of private training or tutoring, you should be seeing some sort of result. If not, then you either have a non productive tutor/group or committee – or you are cheating! Sometimes staying a victim to a situation becomes so normal that even when we believe we want to change it, there is a part of us that is so used to our behaviour that we ensure that we fail so we can maintain our victim status. At which point we can then blame everyone around us for not ‘delivering’ when in effect it could well have been self sabotage. Sometimes of course it is the failing of the tutor/counsellor or support group who for whatever reason may need to keep you a victim, you may bring regular income in! Either way you need to keep vigilant and aware that you are progressing away from the chains that bind you and are moving forward to reaching your goals. Its an easy measure if you are aware. If after 6 or 8 weeks you have no results then you need to identify where it failed and adjust it. Below is a well used model for change. Use it to see where you fit.Contemplation: Being aware of the problem, intend to do something “later” and are thinking about doing something to change.
Planning and Preparation: Have made the decision to take ACTION. Are going to “give it a go”
Action: Have given it a go somewhat but changes not lasting however and are yo yoing between success and failure.
Maintenance: Behaviour is now lasting and becomes more normal and entrenched.
Typically a lot of people individually or as groups get stuck at the ‘Action’ stage. In the fitness industry you see this a lot. You need to get to the Maintenance stage for long lasting results.
