FINDING YOUR PASSION IN LIFE

I believe that it is important to find our passion in life and to share that passion with others.
I believe that it is important to find our passion in life and to share that passion with others to enrich their lives at the same time we are receiving satisfaction from expressing our passion.
I’m not talking about romantic passion, but rather, that deep desire from within our soul that drives us forward and sustains and rejuvenates us throughout life. I think that people are happiest when they are expressing their passion and sharing it with and benefiting others.
I discovered that teaching was a passion of mine very early in life. Perhaps it was encouraged by my Grandmother who was a school teacher. I also have 2 Aunts who either were or are teachers. In 10th grade, my former 9th grade English teacher approached me and asked if I was interested in tutoring her son who was having difficulty in math. I was astounded that someone actually saw something in me that would benefit their family member. Of course I accepted, and continued to do tutoring to this day at 50+!
My passion for teaching and helping others understand things at their level seems to only get stronger over time. A big decision when I was in college was to teach science rather than to study science. Although science always fascinated me, after awhile the digging down deeper into the nitty-gritty of science actually bored me. I wanted to have fun with science and share that enthusiasm with others. Although I did go on to be a certified science teacher and then later a senior trainer for the State, due to reasons such as promotional opportunities, I worked in titles which were not educationally focused.
Nevertheless, in my examiner and analyst positions there were ample opportunities to put my teaching/facilitator cap on and help either staff members or the public understand the technical items such as disability insurance or Medicaid information which can be confusing to newcomers.
Perhaps that is why I’ve been attracted to life-coaching…to help others find their way in life in whatever they are looking for. It is possible that finding your passion in life is a major life challenge and will reward you greatly in greater life satisfaction and fulfillment.
I’ve found it helpful to be still……….. to help listen to my heart and soul as it gently tugs at me for attention in the midst of the world’s clamor and chaos. I’ve found it is usually best not to ignore my heartfelt feelings, as I believe they are helping me to take necessary and soulful actions in my life.
