If you’re uninspired and you want to get inspired again, it involves work. Real work. Typically this feeling comes when you're at a crossroad.
Feeling uninspired at work? This isn’t going to be a 3-quick-tips post. If you’re uninspired and you want to get inspired again, it involves work. Real work.
Typically this feeling comes when you’re at a crossroad. Uninspired arises because the body and mind are in need of change. Change requires growth and learning. These are deep subjects that can’t be solved with headline skimming tips or generic advice. The most common thing I hear when a client comes to me feeling uninspired is that they are stuck. Totally frozen.
Even tenacious and disciplined individuals feel stuck when they’re feeling this way. Additionally, the reason we are seeking change is because we are coming off of a long-standing life event that completely burned us out and depleted us of all of our energy. These events may include burn out at work, divorce, a child graduating high school, starting a company, scaling a young business, and more.
Being uninspired at work is a deep and intense feeling but how do you uncover what is the root cause of it? Superficial causes might be your boss, your boredom with the day to day tasks, your co-workers, lack of moving the ball forward, etc. Root causes are things such as you know you’re not working to your full potential and it makes you feel like your life is insignificant. Or, you’re not living in your values and you have cognitive dissonance every day. One-to-one coaching can help you uncover the root cause. A coach will listen to you with their full attention. They will ask you questions that make you think deeply and they will challenge you to stay present and connected. Uncovering the root cause of feeling uninspired is hard work but having a coach as a partner can ease the load and if you’re committed to putting in the work, can ensure results!
