On Self-Love

"We hurt ourselves the most, when we love ourselves the least"
When you don’t love yourself, you hurt yourself & others.
When you don’t love yourself, you don’t truly live, you just exist.
When you don’t love yourself, you feel replaceable and disposable & you are always thirsty for acknowledgement from people & even after you get it you don’t believe it.
You doubt your success & you don’t accept the credits for your achievements as true.
You see the Irony? you live your life seeking approval and assurances from the world & when you receive it you don’t believe it ! Because deep down, you feel unworthy, unwanted and unimportant & no amount of external praise can change that.
When you don’t love yourself, you hurt those who love you.
Why? Because they are extending to you a feeling that is foreign to you.
What love is to you when all you have inside you is self-hate and self-doubt?
When you don’t love yourself, you reject to believe that you are actually love-able.
When you don’t love yourself, you attach to those who reject and hurt you.
Why? Because they confirm to you what you know about yourself: you are reject-able.
Self-love is a life-long journey, hard, draining and lonely.
Why lonely?
Because it’s the path less traveled. Because not so many people are capable nor ready to be honest with their mirrors…
