Nowadays with the advance of tech and the short distance and time to access places, information and people. More individuals have been chosen and are reaching and developing a life working or studying abroad.
The trends show that this is a good thing, since international experience can promote your carrier, respect with the differences and cultures, increase of creativity and open your vision about the world.
Generally transitional experiences, such as job changes or romantic breakups, typically decline self- concept clearness. Though, for most of the people who have lived abroad at some point in their lives, at the bottom line conclusion, they feel that have gained a clearer sense of who they are as a result. So, they wondered whether living abroad is a unique kind of transitional experience that may truly increase self-concept clearness.
When people live in their home country, they are often enclosed by others who typically behave in similar ways, so they are not forced to question whether their own behaviors reproduce their core values or the values of the culture in which they are surrounded.
In contrast, when living abroad people contact to new cultural values and customs prompts them to continually involved with their own values and beliefs, which are then either reject or reinforced.
Living abroad will increase self-concept clarity, people who had lived abroad described a clearer sense of self than people who had not.
