Putting an End to Defeat
Do you ever have days when you just don’t feel confident about yourself? Everyone has moments when they doubt themselves. Despite how you may feel, the truth is that God has something tremendous planned for your life.
Although you may experience times of self-doubt, don’t internalize those feelings. Your purpose has nothing to do with how you may feel; but it has everything to do with what God has said about you in His Word. By placing your confidence in Him, and not your own abilities, you will begin to experience His blessings and prosperity in your life.
Low self-esteem and a lack of confidence are not part of God’s plan for your life. Neither is having a defeated attitude. In fact, these are ways in which the enemy attempts to separate you from God and His will for you. Don’t sit idly by while the devil attacks your mind with thoughts of self-doubt. Fight back and cast those kinds of thoughts down by speaking the Word of God, declaring who you are in Christ Jesus. Claim your joy and victory by faith and take back your God-given right to feel secure and confident.
Remember that your mind is the arena of faith. It is the place where you will either win or lose the battle against the devil. The primary method that Satan uses to attack you is with thoughts and suggestions. He may try and play on a past mistake or failure to cause you to feel inadequate or insecure about yourself, but don’t fall for his lies. He is after your confidence and his goal is to get you to doubt God’s love and ability to handle the details of your life. Don’t let him take control. Meditate on God’s promises so that your confidence in Him is boosted. Remind yourself of Romans 8:37 which says, “Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us” (The Amplified Bible).
When you begin to doubt yourself, remember that God does not make mistakes. In fact, He loves you so much that despite your imperfection, His special plan for your life remains. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (New International Version). In due time you will experience the fullness of all that your heavenly Father has prepared for you. When you are confident in God’s love for you, you won’t let insecurity rule your life and you will feel secure about moving forward during challenging times.
When you need comfort, wisdom or an extra confidence boost to make it through the day, utilize the resources that are available to you-prayer, the Word and the Holy Spirit. God has given you the tools you need to defeat Satan every time.
If you are a Believer, you don’t have to be defeated another day. You have authority over the enemy and the ability to defeat low self-esteem and a lack of confidence. As you gain confidence in God and His love for you, you will in turn gain confidence in yourself and the purpose that God has for your life. It will come to pass as you trust Him every step of the way.
