Shift from Stress to Joy

How can you shift out of fear frustration, anger, sadness or overwhelm and focus on the positive in your life when you get unexpected outcomes.
Sometimes things do not have the outcome we expect and we have to know how to shift out of feeling frustrated, angry, sad or overwhelmed, then, maybe is time to reevaluate what is important and do something about it.
It is only natural to have expectations about how things and circumstances are supposed to be. We put so much energy and effort in making things happen our way that when we finally get the results, if they are not what we expected, we feel… frustrated, angry, overwhelmed, sad, depleted, etc…
What we do from that moment on, will determine if things get better or worse; if we get caught and tangled in our inner dialogue trying to find reasons and excuses about why things went the wrong way, we may find a “maze of overwhelm” that will lead nowhere else than to the same feelings of frustration, anger, overwhelm, sadness and depletion, or an alternative would be to shift and embrace our vulnerability and accept it so we can let go of all the expectations and possibly find opportunities amongst the present apparent chaos.

If you experience joy and invigorating emotions like appreciation, love or compassion your body produces DHEA hormones that provide you with emotional energy and can heal you physically, emotionally and/or mentally.
Research and experience show that the emotional system can be regulated by practicing certain techniques that develop skills in the same way it takes techniques and practice to learn and develop mental or athletic skills.

The past is gone, and you can only envision your future, but today is right here, right now and living today with all your heart the way you want to live all of your life, will make every yesterday happiness and every tomorrow inspiration to live today.
Ask yourself the following questions: If absolutely everything was possible at this precise moment, how would you be living your life, what would you be feeling most of the time, what would you be saying most of the time, what would you be doing most of the time, how would you be treating yourself and others most of the time?
Take your time to answer and then start practicing your answers. At first it might feel like you are acting out, but with time and continuous focus and practice you will begin to notice change and momentum will do the rest if you continue to be constant. Practice living your everyday life like everything you desire is possible, practice feeling what you desire to feel, practice saying what you desire to say, practice doing what you desire to do, practice treating yourself and others the way you really desire.
