Fly My Heart

No matter what happens in life, keep following your dreams and flying higher, there is no limit in life, we limit ourselves & allow others to limit us
After publishing my first article and the great feedback I got from readers, I felt a huge sense of freedom! My heart was dancing out of joy, and my soul was flying through the sky, imagining how far I can go and what places I can reach. How many souls I can touch, and how many minds I can influence, as far as I am authentic and writing from the heart.
I remembered at that moment “Jonathan Livingston Seagull”. Jonathan was a seagull who had an ignite fire to fly for the sake of flying, enjoyment and self-discovery. He wanted to master new skills of flying; which would lead him into the unseen and help him understand the world around him better. He was casted not only because he wanted to learn, but also because he wanted to learn something special and different, and by doing this he reminded all the folk around him of their responsibility to learn and cross beyond their comfort zone. As this was not an easy option and will require a lot of work from them, they preferred to either force him to be like them or cast him away: “You don’t belong to us because you are different”, stated the folk implicitly.
They didn’t realize the blessing behind their decision. As by casting Jonathan, they liberated him from the feeling of guilt for being different, freed him from the feeling of responsibility to change folks who don’t want to change, and gave him a chance to move forward to a place where his soul belonged. Jonathan was bonded to his original folk physically and by birth, but mentally and spiritually it was not the right place for him to thrive. He kept hoping for years to make a change where he was, unconsciously hitting his head against the walls of their stubbornness to stay blind, but they made him a great favor by giving him the boot he needed to discover new places, new folks and move to where his heart and spirit belong.
Jonathan was puzzled and lonely, and could not understand the reason behind casting him away. He wanted to belong and at the same time he wanted to create a change in attitude, a way of thinking and a way of living, and was wondering why others couldn’t simply see what he was seeing. But deep inside he knew he was different, and once he accepted himself with all the differences he was holding, he could fly magnificently. Once he admired his exceptionality, he went higher and higher, and he started inspiring others to reach the levels of self-discovery that he did.
This alerted my mind about a crucial issue spreading in our societies, which we might be aware of, but underestimating its dangerous impact on ourselves as well as upcoming generations. In the pyramid of needs the need of belonging comes in the third level, and this need triggers people to work so hard to fit in, but what if our belonging has to first start with ourselves? I can understand the belonging to a family, home and country, but that is the physical belonging, and what I am pointing to here is the emotional, intellectual and spiritual belonging. What if all what we need is to create our own world of thinking that uniquely identifies us and invite others to fit in if they want? What if all what we need is self-acceptance of who we are and being proud of our unique creation?
It does not really matter how much money we have, what certificates we have and what position we hold. It does not matter how we dress, what we eat, what car we drive, what our hobbies are and what places we visited. It does not matter who our parents or grandparents or children or grandchildren are. It doesn’t matter who our friend or spouse is. The only thing that really matters is our unique combination of mind, heart and soul with all the abilities that this unique identity possesses. It is only when we look inside to create our own world and accept ourselves for who we are, we will have an incredible and unfading sense of belonging. And only then we will feel a great sense of happiness, open our wings wide and fly freely higher and higher towards our dreams.
When we believe that we are living to learn, discover and be free, we can build a state of mind where there is no place for fear, anger or boredom, and we will live with endless joy. We should also understand that when ones learning in school is finished we then have to move to the next step in our life’s journey. We must keep learning and elevate above all obstacles to become the best human beings we can be on earth, and reach perfection in every single aspect of our lives. And in order to travel further beyond all possible limitations, we need to cross perfection towards love and kindness. To do this we have to practice being our true selves on a daily basis; kind, loving creatures who are capable of anything we want.
