About Me

Growing up in a middle-class Asian household, the world’s perception of us as a family was always a concern for my parents. They repetitively told my siblings and me to behave, not embarrass the fam, not attract so much attention, just keep my head down and work hard, etc. That conditioning worked out pretty well for me far into adulthood. It shaped me into a reliable, trustworthy, adaptable, and loyal person. It helped me through UC Berkeley with a BA in Economics and 17.5 years of international business experience building relationships around the world. But, I successfully squeezed myself into a box in which I didn’t fit because what I didn’t know I didn’t know. Corporate life was comfortable as a manager. But looking back, my soul deep down was in pain masked by clever justifications in my mind. I was actually feeling uninspired on most days. The occasional “Win” and the weekends were what I looked forward to. My soul was screaming for a much deeper personal purpose and connection in all areas of life.

In 2017, I began coaching when I enrolled in a 1-year intensive life coach training program called Accomplishment Coaching, accredited by the ICF. It rocked my old paradigm and provided the foundation to build a new empowered identity. I was laid off from my previous job at the end of March 2020 when our facility closed, which was the wake-up call that I needed to start living in alignment. Consequently, I decided to take a year-long sabbatical for self-care and mental/spiritual alignment. Now, with greater clarity of self, deeper compassion for others, and renewed purpose in impacting the lives of others, I’m happier and more inspired than I’ve ever been. Having walked the traditional corporate career path, I can relate to those who've ignored their intuition for years at the expense of themselves.
