About Me
Are you frustrated with how a relationship gets stuck the same way over and over again? What if you could find a way to break out of that frustrating dance?
You can discover your patterns of relating and change them. You can develop your agency and begin showing up in a way that reflects your values and your goals. I know because I’ve done it.
My relationships have changed drastically over the last several years. I've transitioned from a 26 year marriage to co-parenting with my kids’ father; from monogamy to consensual non-monogamy; from adult-child to adult-adult relationships with my older kids. I approach relationships of all kinds with an entirely different perspective now - one of curiosity, creativity, and agency. I design them. I give myself the freedom to try new approaches and find out in actuality (not assuming) what does and doesn’t work in each situation.
Key to those changes has been the gradual unmasking and transformation of patterns that kept me locked in a downward spiral (and they certainly didn’t help anyone else either!). The depression I wrestled with from my late 20’s into my 40’s felt like my nemesis but also became one of my greatest teachers - right up there with parenting.
I am an SC Bar Trained Family Court Mediator, International Coaching Academy Life Design Coach and have done graduate work in counseling and coaching. My training in coaching, counseling, and mediation has given me tools to more effectively help you find the next steps for your journey into nourishing, sustainable relationships and productive conflict.

Tammy Knorr is an excellent coach. My year working with her helped me identify, name, and develop tools for sitting with the anxiety around old traumas which had been keeping me stuck for many years. Tammy's quiet and gentle manner belie her keen observing skills. I never felt analyzed. But unlike therapists whose hands-off style left me without specific tools, Tammy steered me towards the resources, and techniques I needed to break my long-entrenched safety-seeking patterns. She helped me recognize how my insecure attachment style caused me to sabotage relationships and how my fears of pain led me to retreat from life by failing to take risks. By showing me how I could sit with discomfort by watching my feelings and finding more mindful and constructive ways to release my anxiety than by blocking, I've learned to be less afraid of fear. It has led to a revolution in my life and I'm profoundly grateful. The biggest change is that I now defend my boundaries better in relationships and my self respect and the health of my relationships is dramatically improved. I highly recommend working with Tammy. She will give it to you straight, but in such a gentle way that you'll want to engage with the process necessary for healing tough stuff.

I highly recommend working with Tammy. Our sessions involve her asking specific questions that allow me to determine what I value and what actions represent those values. I am most grateful for her guidance in helping me recognize my wins. She encourages me to pause and celebrate, and then she helps me understand what's working and why, which motivates me to keep going. Her guidance, support and encouragement are meaningful and remarkable.

Tammy has helped me find ways to identify certain habits and emotional responses that have been blocking my ability to be more fully present in my relationships and develop more real intimacy. Through our conversations Ive been able to more intentionally focus on the things I want to enjoy in the relationships I have in my life. I like that she listens to me and asks thought provoking questions that lead me to finding solutions to the issues Im working on, rather than trying to feed me one size fits all type solutions from some book. I would highly recommend her as a coach for anyone who wants to have more fulfilling personal relationships and more joy in their lives overall.
