Allow me to share a bit about myself, because all of the above describes my life for 2 decades. I was stuck and miserable, but perservered until my life changed the way I wanted it to.
In 2020 I discovered I was on the Autism spectrum. This was a blessing and a shock. This diagnosis explained a lot of mysteries about the frustrating reoccuring challenges that I faced over and over again in life and relationships. For most of my life, I felt as if no matter how hard I tried or how creative I was in utilizing different ways to change things in my life, I was still having the same dissapointing results.
That's not to say that the things I learned and tried over the years did not help; they did. My 10 year background in psychology and experience working with people who have mental and developmental issues informed many of the tools and skills that I teach, but the two things that really changed everything was becoming skilled in emotional intelligence and forgiveness. I needed to forgive myself and others. This didn't mean that all was well in my old relationships. What it did mean was that I was not longer carrying resentment towards others and judging myself. This is when my life began to turn around, and move forward in meaningful ways.
