About Me

Shawna Corden is an Executive Coach and owner of Shawna Corden Coaching and Webinars as well as a Faculty Member with CoachU. She is an OSU Alum and holds certifications in Professional Project Management from PMI, and the PCC from the ICF.

Her expertise lies in building a coaching culture. From coaching executives who want to move away from 'Management by Objective' and into 'Empowering Innovation and Autonomy' with their workforce, to building coaching skills or starting an Internal Coaching Organization.

Organizations often struggle with managers being overworked, because they are spending their time telling their employees what to do and how to do it. This approach fatigues managers and leaves all kinds of ideas and intelligence from their workforce unused. By shifting to a coach approach managers and leaders focus on the what, while the employees innovate with the how. Managers and Leaders can be more strategic, and employees have more autonomy, mastery and purpose. This leads to greater employee engagement and higher retention.

As a former Executive Coach with a Fortune 10 company she knows the challenges professionals face in being happily productive and engaged in all facets of their well-being- including work.

She is the former chair of the Internal Coaching community of practice for the International Coaching Federation (ICF), and a five-time member on the PRISM awards committee, awarding the honor of coaching excellence demonstrated in an organization. She is also active on the Code of Ethics Committee for the ICF. She regularly speaks to global audiences on topics regarding Internal Coaching, Employee Engagement, and Mentoring.

Shawna resides in Corvallis, Oregon with her husband and has two college-aged girls. Her “Why she does what she does” is rooted in having every employee be an all-star; developing and exercising their gifts. She enjoys cooking, reading and rooting on the Beavers.
