About Me
Robert ‘Doc’ Barham’s earliest experience in coaching was at age seven, helping his father, his Little League baseball coach. Doc has worked in numerous professional roles since the age of twelve. In high school, he was a coach for boys fifth grade basketball.
He attended Virginia Tech University, school of performing arts, with a focus on theatre arts.
In college, he worked as counselor for K-6 children. He founded a stand up comedy club in Blacksburg, Virginia, and was a DJ at the university radio station WUVT FM. After leaving school, he became a professional entertainer, performing as a stand up comedian and stage hypnotist.
He accepted the role of Director of Personnel Development for a nationally known company. He was the executive coach to the senior leadership team and trainer for programs. In 2001, he moved to Los Angeles, California to work with Positive Changes Hypnosis Centers and continue his work as a professional entertainer.
Later, he started his executive coaching business, consulting with peak performance clients from such organizations as Mind Valley, the NBA, NCAA, PGA, NASCAR, World Series of Poker, Zappos, Country Music Association, Playboy, Warner Music Group, Oprah Winfrey Network and Hyperloop Transportation Technologies.
He has appeared on television, radio, the web and in print on The History Channel, PBS, Comedy Central, Spike TV, the Bob and Tom Show, Big Biz Radio, Zo What? Show, Business Rockstars, Associated Press, Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, Success Magazine, Business Insider, Fast Company, Psychology Today, and Huffington Post.
Doc is a certified Heartmath coach mentor, master hypnotist, hypnotherapist, NLP practitioner, and reiki master, former outreach trainer with Monroe Institute, and has twelve certificates in multi-media training including radio and television production. He is a member the International Coaching Federation and National Guild Of Hypnotists. He is host of the talk radio show, American Dreamtime.
